A couple of days after the launch of the aesthetic, modern, Art Africa Osu Gallery<\/a>, Ablade Glover<\/a>, a trailblazer Ghanaian artist and patron of Art Africa visited the gallery. His paintings are exhibited at Art Africa Osu Gallery.<\/p>\n

Art Africa<\/a> launched the Osu Gallery on Friday 27th May 2022.\u00a0The event was graced by dignitaries.\u00a0H.E. Rebecca Akufo-Addo<\/a>, the First Lady of the Republic of Ghana; Hon. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, MP for Korle Klottey Constituency; Hon. Nana Ama Dokua Asiamah-Adjei, Dept. Minister for Trade & Industry and MP for Akuapem North; Mr Yofi Grant, CEO of GIPC; Ambassador Jung-Taek Lim of South Korea; Dr David Marion of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity from the USA, and many other dignitaries from the International and Ghanaian communities.<\/p>\n

Trained in Ghana, the UK, and the USA, Ablade Glover<\/a> has accumulated many distinctions that underline his significance as an artist and educator, both in Ghana and across the international art scene. Glover\u2019s work reveals his vibrant passion for life, activity and colour.<\/p>\n

Using warm impasto pigments to express the sun and heat of his country, Glover depicts animated landscapes that mirror the exuberant diversity of Africa: its bustling market stalls, brightly attired crowds, and the dynamic energy that is Ghana.<\/p>\n

October Gallery first showed the distinctive canvases of Ablade Glover<\/a> in 1982, in one of the first shows at the Gallery of an artist from the continent of Africa. In 2019, his ninth solo exhibition at the Gallery Wogbe Jeke – We Have Come a Long Way, opened to celebrate his 85th birthday. The universality of Glover\u2019s work is reflected in the breadth and variety of his collections. His work can be found in collections such as the Imperial Palace Collection, Tokyo, Japan; UNESCO Headquarters, Paris, France; Africa First Collection, Tel Aviv, Israel; and Chicago\u2019s O\u2019Hare International Airport, Chicago, USA. He has been exhibited extensively in West Africa; Europe; the USA; and Japan. Glover also occupies a major position in Ghana\u2019s contemporary art scene, as Founder and Director of the internationally acclaimed Artists Alliance Gallery in Accra, Ghana.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
